Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 2 cups Strawberries, hulled and sliced Can be replaced with cherries for a different texture.
  • 1 cup Blueberries Feel free to swap with blackberries for a richer flavor.
  • 1 large Banana, sliced Or replace with pineapple rings for a tropical twist.
Toppings
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream Homemade for indulgence or store-bought for convenience.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash your strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull and slice the strawberries, and slice your banana into rounds.
  2. On a large rectangular serving platter, arrange the sliced strawberries on one third on the left side to represent the red section of the flag.
  3. Next to the strawberries, create a square of blueberries to mimic the star field of the flag.
  4. Fill the remaining space with banana slices or whipped cream to represent the white stripes.
  5. Add a dollop of whipped cream in the top corner if desired to enhance the visual appeal.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Notes

This fruit platter is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To keep the fruits from browning, consider refrigerating each fruit separately if you know you have leftovers. You can prepare a few hours ahead and keep it covered in the fridge until it’s time to serve.
