Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces salmon fillets, skin-on For extra flavor
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce Homemade or store-bought; add crushed garlic for extra zest
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar Optional, depending on sweetness preference
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Adds a lovely nutty flavor
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped For a fresh garnish
  • to taste sesame seeds For topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy clean-up.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, honey, and sesame oil, then pour half of this mixture over the salmon, reserving the other half for later.
  4. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 10 minutes.
Baking
  1. Place the marinated salmon in the oven and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  2. Midway through baking, baste the salmon with the reserved teriyaki sauce.
Serving
  1. Once baked, sprinkle the salmon with green onions and sesame seeds for garnishing.

Notes

For variations, try adding sriracha for spiciness or glaze with a mixture of apricot jam and soy sauce for a sweet twist. Serve with rice, veggies, or a side salad.
