Preparation
- Slice the flank steak thinly, then marinate with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for about 10 minutes.
- In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli for 2 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain and set aside.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked through.
- Return the blanched broccoli to the pan. Mix well to coat everything in the garlic-ginger aroma.
- Pour any remaining marinade into the skillet, allowing the sauce to thicken for 2-3 minutes to coat the beef and broccoli.
- Remove from heat and serve hot over rice or noodles of your choice.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, swap the beef for tofu or tempeh. You can customize with more veggies or spicy elements.
