Ingredients

For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets Salmon Fillets Fresh or frozen, ensure the latter is thawed before cooking.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Coconut sugar can be used for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium options available.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Enhances the flavor of the fish.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic works best.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly cracked is recommended.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking for your salmon.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper until a syrup forms.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Pour the brown sugar glaze over the fillets, coating them generously.
Cooking
  1. Pop the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. The glaze will caramelize and shine.
  2. Baste the fish with the glaze halfway through cooking for extra flavor.
  3. Once done, take the salmon out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add fresh lemon juice or zest to the glaze for a zesty twist. Serve with a fresh garden salad or roasted vegetables for a wholesome meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
