Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, adding the diced onion until translucent. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the casserole dish. Then put half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese. Pour the soup mixture over the top.
Cooking
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped chives or parsley.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to two months. Reheat in the oven or microwave for best results.
