Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and egg, beating until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
Baking
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For the best results, use room temperature ingredients and do not overmix the dough. Chill the dough for thicker cookies if desired.
