Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and egg, beating until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
