Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
Baking
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
To keep fresh, wrap in plastic wrap or foil and store at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze individual slices. For reheating, microwave a slice for about 15 seconds or warm in a toaster oven.
