Ingredients

For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices whole grain or sourdough bread Feel free to swap in your favorite type
  • 4-6 slices cooked turkey Leftovers work beautifully
  • 1 handful crisp lettuce Romaine or butter lettuce adds great texture
  • 1 slice tomato Fresh, juicy tomatoes elevate the flavor
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or mustard Or both, if you’re feeling indulgent!
  • optional avocado slices, cheese, or pickles For added flair

Method

Preparation
  1. Lay out two slices of your chosen bread on a clean cutting board or plate.
  2. Spread a layer of mayonnaise (or mustard) on one side of each slice to create a flavorful base. You can also use avocado for a creamy twist.
  3. Layer the turkey slices evenly on one slice of bread, adding enough to satisfy your craving.
  4. Place a handful of fresh lettuce atop the turkey, followed by juicy tomato slices.
  5. If you’re using cheese or any additional toppings, add them now.
  6. Cap the sandwich off with the other slice of bread, mayo side down.
  7. Gently press down on the sandwich and, if desired, cut it in half for easy handling.

Notes

For optimal freshness, store leftover ingredients separately. Keep components in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
