Ingredients

For the Steak Bites
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces Choose a good cut for best flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish For presentation.
For the Cajun Alfredo Twisted Pasta
  • 8 ounces twisted pasta (cavatappi recommended)
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste Adjust according to preference.

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the twisted pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Steak Bites
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Season the steak pieces with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the steak to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Cook in batches if necessary.
Making the Garlic Butter Sauce
  1. Once the steak is cooked to your liking, reduce the heat to medium, and add the remaining butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
  2. Stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and beginning to brown.
Mixing the Sauce
  1. In a separate saucepan, combine the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Cajun seasoning. Stir over medium heat until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the Cajun Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat well.
  2. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the pasta cooking water until you reach your desired consistency.
Serving
  1. Spoon the spicy Cajun Alfredo pasta onto plates, topping with the steak bites and drizzling over any remaining garlic butter sauce.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley for that lovely pop of color.

Notes

Feel free to swap out heavy cream for a lighter option like half-and-half or use gluten-free pasta for a healthier take on this dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
