  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup cornstarch for that irresistible crunch!

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil can use olive oil for a healthier option
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce adjust for low-sodium if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Dredge them in cornstarch until well-coated, shaking off any excess.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  2. In the same skillet, pour in the prepared sauce and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss well to coat each piece with the sauce.
Serving
  1. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a smoky flavor, try grilling the chicken instead of frying it. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
