Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans) Feel free to swap in your favorites for a personal touch!
  • 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped They provide natural sweetness and moisture.
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) Use a high-quality dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt For that perfect contrast to the sweetness.
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup (optional) Adjust for sweetness to your liking.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract This adds delicious depth and aroma.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
  2. In a food processor, combine the mixed nuts and chopped dates. Pulse until the mixture is crumbly yet sticks together when pressed.
  3. Add the dark chocolate chips, honey (if using), and vanilla extract. Pulse again until the mixture is well incorporated.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing it firmly into an even layer. Use a spatula or your hands to ensure it’s tightly packed.
  5. Sprinkle the sea salt over the top, gently pressing it into the layer for added flavor.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and fragrant.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cut into bars or squares.

Notes
