- Peel and slice the apples, placing them in a large bowl. Add half a cup of brown sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon, tossing to coat the apples evenly.
- In another bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the oat topping over the apples, ensuring a generous layer covers them completely.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is nicely golden and the apples are bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
