Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the apples, placing them in a large bowl. Add half a cup of brown sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon, tossing to coat the apples evenly.
  3. In another bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the oat topping over the apples, ensuring a generous layer covers them completely.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is nicely golden and the apples are bubbly.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
