Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced peaches, ½ cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir well and let it sit to marinate for about 10 minutes.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining ½ cup of sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix in the milk until combined, then fold in the melted butter. The batter will be slightly lumpy, but that's okay!
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter, leaving the juices in the bowl.
Cooking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Serve warm, drizzling leftover peach juices over each serving for extra flavor.
