  • 3 tablespoons honey Balances the saltiness of the soy sauce.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic brings a punch of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil A touch of fat for a smooth finish.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Brightens the dish with acidity.
For the Salmon
  • 4 pieces salmon fillets Fresh is best, but frozen works too—ensure they are thawed.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice until combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover or seal it and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Set your oven to broil or preheat to 400°F if using an oven-safe skillet.
  2. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on a foil-lined baking sheet (or in a hot skillet).
  3. Cook for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Optional: Brush the salmon with additional marinade halfway through cooking for extra flavor.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the oven on low to prevent drying out. Avoid over-marinating the salmon.
