  • 1 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or cashew) Adds creaminess and protein; sunflower seed butter can be used for a nut-free version.
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup Natural sweeteners that bind the ingredients.
  • ½ cup ground flaxseed Optional, adds omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
  • 1 cup mix-ins (chocolate chips, dried fruits, coconut flakes) Customize flavors and textures.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavors.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, nut butter, honey, and salt. Stir until well blended.
  2. Add the ground flaxseed and your chosen mix-ins. Mix until everything is combined.
  3. Use your hands to form spoonfuls of the mixture into small balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place the energy balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for extra firmness.
  5. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
