Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz Spaghetti or fettuccine Choose your favorite type of pasta.
  • 1 lb Ground beef Use lean beef for a healthier option or a fattier cut for extra flavor.
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced Freshly minced provides the best flavor.
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter Adjust based on your preference.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Freshly grated for the best flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Add optional red pepper flakes for a kick.
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) For garnish, adding brightness to the dish.

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Sautéing the Garlic
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant—about 1 minute.
Browning the Beef
  1. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked through.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Lower the heat and add the drained pasta into the skillet with the beef. Toss together, adding a splash of reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
Finishing with Cheese
  1. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and coat the pasta evenly. Taste and add more salt or pepper if needed.
Serving
  1. Plate the pasta, garnishing with fresh herbs and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra kick.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can freeze the pasta for longer storage; last up to 3 months. Reheat on low heat on the stovetop or microwave.
