Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened and at room temperature for creamy texture.
  • 1 cup brown sugar For a rich caramel-like flavor; try using dark brown sugar for extra depth.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Sweetness balance to complement the brown sugar.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature for better incorporation.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Adds warmth and complexity.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accuracy.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the cookie rise perfectly.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips You can substitute with milk chocolate or dark chocolate chunks!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or spoon.
  6. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, creating a single large mound, about 1-2 inches thick.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center appears slightly underbaked.
  2. Let the cookie cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
  3. Slice or serve whole, and enjoy every warm bite with a glass of milk.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. To reheat, microwave a slice for 10-15 seconds.
