Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Mix in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or spoon.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, creating a single large mound, about 1-2 inches thick.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center appears slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookie cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
- Slice or serve whole, and enjoy every warm bite with a glass of milk.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. To reheat, microwave a slice for 10-15 seconds.
