  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips Feel free to swap with dark chocolate for a richer flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring they’re fully incorporated before adding the vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Shape the dough into 3-4 inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers remain soft.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
