For the Cobbler
  • 6-8 pieces Fresh peaches, peeled and sliced Feel free to swap in frozen peaches if fresh ones aren’t available.
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar for the filling
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar for the topping
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Gives the cobbler its structure.
  • ½ cup Butter, melted For rich flavor and texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder Helps the topping rise.
  • 1 cup Milk Provides moisture to the cobbler topping.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with ¾ cup sugar. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and ¼ cup sugar.
  4. Pour in the melted butter and milk, stirring until just combined.
  5. In a greased baking dish, spread the peach mixture evenly.
  6. Pour the batter over the peaches, being careful not to mix it in too much.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and set.
  2. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream on top!

Notes

For serving, top with ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered or in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. Consider adding cinnamon or substituting with other fruits for variations.
