Method
Preparation
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch with a pinch of salt. Dredge each piece of chicken in the cornstarch until fully coated.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken, ensuring not to crowd the pan for even cooking.
- Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, then stir in honey and soy sauce, mixing thoroughly.
- Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the crispy chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat in the honey garlic sauce. Let it bubble for another minute.
- Transfer the chicken onto a serving platter and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions.
Notes
To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat on a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water to maintain juiciness.
