Ingredients

For the sliders
  • 12 pieces slider rolls Soft, fluffy rolls work best; feel free to swap for whole grain for a healthier option.
  • 1 pound sliced salami You can mix in some pepperoni or capicola for added flavor.
  • 1 pound sliced ham Lean or smoked ham can give you different taste profiles.
  • 1 pound provolone cheese Opt for fresh mozzarella if you prefer a creamier texture.
  • 1 jar giardiniera This Italian pickled vegetable mix enhances the flavor.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Use more for a richer flavor, or swap for butter if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning Perfectly blend those classic Italian flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the rolls in half, keeping the bottoms and tops together.
  3. In a baking dish, lay the bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Layer the salami, ham, and provolone cheese over the rolls.
  5. Sprinkle a generous layer of giardiniera on top.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil and sprinkle the Italian seasoning over everything.
  7. Place the top halves of the rolls back on and brush with olive oil if desired.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing into individual sliders.

Notes

Feel free to get creative with your Hot Italian Sub Sliders! Try adding roasted red peppers, arugula, or even a slice of fresh tomato for extra freshness. For a healthier twist, swap the meats for grilled vegetables and add a layer of pesto. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through, or enjoy cold. You can also freeze sliders before baking, just wrap tightly for up to a month.
