Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the sheet of puff pastry until it’s about 1/8 inch thick and cut into strips approximately 1 inch wide.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Take one puff pastry strip and place a spoonful of the jalapeño cheese mixture along one side. Fold the other side over to enclose the filling and twist the strip to create a spiral.
- Place the twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the twists.
Baking
- Pop the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they’re puffed and golden brown.
- Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
