  • 1 tablespoon flour For tossing the apples.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For aromatic warmth.

For the Crisp Topping
  • 1 cup flour For the crisp topping.
  • 1 cup rolled oats For a hearty texture.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted For richness.
  • ¼ cup sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of flour to coat evenly.
  3. Add ¾ cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the apples, stirring gently until combined.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Making the Crisp Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, combine oats, 1 cup of flour, ¼ cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Evenly spread the crisp topping over the apples.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For variations, you can substitute some of the sugar with honey or maple syrup, add nuts or dried cranberries, or use other seasonal fruits like pears or peaches.
