  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds a touch of caramel flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For extra sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs Binds the ingredients together.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Infuses warmth and depth of flavor.
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour For perfect chewy texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps achieve slight puffiness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips The star of the show! Can swap with dark chocolate or add nuts.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until you see just a hint of flour.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze unbaked dough balls between layers of parchment paper.
