Preparation
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside a small portion for basting later.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish, pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil. Once hot, carefully lay the salmon in the pan, skin side down if they have skin.
- Sear the salmon for about 4-5 minutes.
- Spoon the marinade over the salmon, then flip it gently. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting frequently, until it’s nicely caramelized and cooked through.
- Remove from the heat and let it rest for a moment. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For creative variations, consider adding lemon or lime juice for an extra citrus zing, fresh herbs like parsley for an aromatic twist, or chili flakes for heat. Serve with sides like jasmine rice or a vibrant salad.
