Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside to let the flavors mingle while you prepare the batter.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Don’t worry if it seems uneven; it will even out as it bakes.
- Spoon the prepared peach mixture evenly over the batter without stirring it in.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your peach cobbler warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Notes
Using ripe peaches will elevate the flavor, and you can add a pinch of nutmeg for added warmth. Leftover peach cobbler can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. For a healthier option, substitute part of the sugar with honey or use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour.
