  • 4 cups canned peaches (drained) Good-quality canned peaches for best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar (plus more for sprinkling) Adjust according to the sweetness of the peaches.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with a gluten-free blend.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted) Ensure it is fully melted.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For a warm spice note.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the melted butter into a greased baking dish. Pour the batter over the top of the butter—don’t stir!
  5. Evenly distribute the canned peaches over the batter.
  6. Sprinkle extra sugar and cinnamon on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted comes out clean.

Notes

For variations, try using mixed berries, nuts, or coconut flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
