Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them, then fold in a bowl with 1/2 cup of the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined. The batter will have a slightly lumpy texture.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish. Do not stir; it will rise during baking.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. You might notice the peaches want to float, but this is perfectly fine!
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Notes
For serving suggestions, serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
