  • 6 peaches Fresh peaches Peel and slice, remove pits. Frozen peaches can be used if thawed.
Batter
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of peaches.
  • 1 cup Flour All-purpose flour is recommended.
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup Milk Adds moisture and richness.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Use unsalted butter for controlled flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the peaches, removing the pits. Toss with about 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of melted butter until blended.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Spoon the prepared peaches over the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
