Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve the red gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir gently until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup vodka and 1/2 cup cold water. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into layered shot glasses until they are about 1/3 full. Place in the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
- In another bowl, dissolve the unflavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until dissolved, then let it cool for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, gently mix in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka.
- Carefully pour the unflavored gelatin mixture over the red layer in each shot glass, filling them up another 1/3 of the way. Return them to the fridge and let them set for another 30 minutes.
- For the final layer, repeat the process for the blueberry gelatin, mixing with boiling water, adding vodka and cold water, and stirring until smooth.
- Pour the blue mixture on top of the already set white layer in each glass. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until completely firm.
- When ready to serve, add a dollop of whipped cream on top and garnish with fresh blueberries if desired.
Notes
These Jello Shots are best enjoyed fresh but can last up to a week in the fridge if stored covered. Avoid freezing as the texture may change.
