Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Drain any excess grease for a healthier dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste.
- Open the can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Add these pieces to the mixing bowl with the sausage.
- Fold in the shredded cheese and any optional vegetables. Ensure everything is well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It is freezer-friendly and can be reheated at 350°F (175°C).
