  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Or sesame oil for a nuttier flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A dash of red pepper flakes For some heat.
  • Optional: Soy sauce or tamari For an added umami kick.

Preparation
  1. Trim the ends of the garlic scapes and cut them into 2-inch pieces.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the garlic scapes and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender yet still crisp.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste. Optionally, add a splash of soy sauce or tamari.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped scallions.

Notes

Feel free to get creative by adding proteins like chicken, shrimp, or tofu. Don't overcrowd the pan, and always use fresh garlic scapes for the best flavor.
