  • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Can mix in other cheeses like pepper jack for a spicy twist.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbly, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Spread the cooked sausage evenly in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  2. Layer the frozen tater tots on top of the sausage, creating an even layer.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the tater tots, allowing it to soak through.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the entire dish.
Cooking
  1. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, fry your sausage with a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a sprinkle of your favorite seasoning blend. Ensure even baking by spreading the tater tots and sausage uniformly in the pan.
